Commodores Report Today, Start Practice Tomorrow 8/10/2004 The Vanderbilt women’s soccer team reported to campus Tuesday evening and will begin two-a-day practices Wednesday for the upcoming 2004 season. Head Coach Ronnie Coveleskie-Hill welcomes 10 newcomers to 11 returning players from last season’s team that advanced to the SEC Tournament. The Commodores are led by seniors Molly Wilson (5-4, Midfield, Springfield, Va.) and Jessica Fear (5-5, Defender, West Chester, Ohio). Wilson is the team’s returning leading scorer with 10 points (3 goals, 4 assists). She started in all 18 games last season . Fear was fourth on the team in minutes played with 1,383 and was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America District IV Team. Both Wilson and Fear earned SEC Academic Honor Roll honors. Seven of VU’s opponents played in last year’s NCAA tournament. Vanderbilt will play seven home games beginning with the season home-opener against Wake Forest Aug. 27 (Friday) at 7 p.m. The Commodores host Furman in a scrimmage Aug. 17 (Tuesday) at the Vanderbilt Soccer Stadium at 1 p.m. |
