No. 10 VU Lacrosse Hosts Final Home Weekend of 2004 Regular Season 4-16-04 4/16/2004 American Lacrosse Conference opponents Ohio and Ohio State visit Nashville NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 10th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s lacrosse team plays host to American Lacrosse Conference rivals Ohio and Ohio State this weekend at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex. Friday’s match against the Bobcats is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT, while Sunday’s match against the Buckeyes, VU’s Senior Day, will begin at 1 p.m. Vanderbilt (7-3, 2-1 in the ALC) earned a pair of important IWLCA South Region victories last weekend in North Carolina. The Commodores defeated UNC, 12-8, before routing league-rival Davidon, 20-5. Sophomore Kate Hickman enters this weekend as the reigning ALC Player of the Week after scoring eight goals in VU’s two most recent wins. This weekend will be filled with story lines, from the return of Kate Brew — former VU assistant and current Ohio coach bringing her team to Nashville for the first time on Friday — to the departure of Vanderbilt’s most-celebrated senior class — nine seniors, including seven starters, making their final regular season appearance at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex on Sunday. |
