Vanderbilt Women’s Tennis Claims No. 2 Seed At SEC Tournament 4/12/2004 NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team, ranked third in the nation in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s most recent poll, has earned the second seed in the 2004 Southeastern Conference Women’s Tennis Tournament, scheduled to begin Thursday, April 15, at the Brownlee O. Currey Jr. Tennis Center. Top-seeded Florida, Vanderbilt, third-seeded Georgia and fourth-seeded Tennessee all receive a first-round bye and will be exempt from Thursday’s action. The Commodores’ first match is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. CT on Friday, April 16, against the Alabama/Auburn winner. The 2004 SEC Women’s Tennis Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 15, when fifth-seeded LSU faces 12th-seeded Arkansas. The day’s other matches are scheduled for 9:45 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. The doubles portion of each match will start 45 minutes after the singles portion of the previous match began, but not before the designated time.
