Josie Hahn matched the Vanderbilt outdoor high jump mark en route to a fourth place heptathlon finish. Hahn, competing near her hometown of Clinton, totalled 5,241 points, 269 points better than her effort one year ago at the meet.

Fifth-year senior Kyshia Ewing, enjoying her final year of eligibility for the Commodores, also set a new personal best in the heptathlon with a 4,643-point total resulting a seventh place overall finish.

For the second time in three months, Schneble blew away existing Commodore 5,000-meter records. During the winter, she lowered the indoor record by 25 seconds, capping the season with a second place finish at the Southeastern Conference Championships. The performance Saturday accomplishes two goals for Schneble. In addition to breaking the former team mark of 16:48.77 set by Beth Van Dusen in 2000, Schneble also earns an important qualifying mark for the upcoming NCAA Regional Championships.

Prior to Schneble’s performance on the final day of competition, Hahn and Ewing provided the Commodores’ best results. While starting slowly in the seven-discipline heptathlon, Hahn and Ewing jumped into contention with winning performances in the high jump and shot put, respectively. Hahn captured the high jump with a clearance of 5’11.25″, matching her previous team outdoor mark set last summer at the USTAF National Championships. Ewing achieved the top mark in the shot put, the third of seven heptathlon disciplines. Ewing’s winning toss was 40’4.25″. Hahn secured fourth place with solid performances in the final two heptathlon events, finishing second in the javelin (134’04”) and fourth in the 800-meter run (2:22.85).
