Commodores Rally for 12th Place Finish

CARY, NC — Led by junior Mark Donnell’s four-under par 68, Vanderbilt improved two places to finish 12th Saturday at the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate played over the Macgregor Downs Country Club.

The Commodores had struggled through Friday’s 36 holes of play but shot 10 strokes better as a team over the final tour of the course.
 
Luke List led Vanderbilt,placing in a tie for 20th position after shooting a 74 to give him a one-over 217 for the 54 holes.
 
Duke was the team champion, shooting a final round 280 to leap over first-day leader Kansas.  Bill Haas of Wake Forest, the nation’s No.1 ranked collegiate player, shot rounds of 64-69-68-201 to win the individual championship.

Commodores 14th in North Carolina

CARY, NC — Vanderbilt struggled through Friday’s 36 holes at the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate and finds itself in 14th place with 18 holes to play.

The Commodores posted team scores of 301 and 292 to trail Kansas, which shot 14-under par for a 562 score.
 
Freshman Luke List was the lone Vanderbilt player in red numbers.  List had rounds of 72-71 for a one-under 143 and is in 14th place.  Bill Haas of Wake Forest shot 64-69-133, 11-under par.
 
The tournament concludes Saturday with 18 holes in the morning.
