Vanderbilt To Announce Football Season Ticket Prices Thursday 3/30/2004
Vanderbilt To Announce Football Season Ticket Prices Thursday NASHVILLE, Tenn. — With Southeastern Conference games against South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and Mississippi State scheduled on campus, Vanderbilt officials are expected to announce reductions in 2004 football season prices on Thursday. The likely move to lower season ticket prices comes on the heels of a substantial drop in season ticket prices for the Vanderbilt men’s basketball squad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Home attendance in Memorial Gym for Commodore games averaged 11,312, the highest since 1998-99. Eric Nichols, Interim Director of Marketing for the Commodores, said Wednesday’s season ticket release will continue the “We Want You Back” theme initiated before basketball season. “We’re about to announce a season ticket plan intended to achieve three objectives – reward our existing season ticket holders, welcome back former ticket holders and create more Commodore fans,” Nichols said. “We are going to field an exciting and competitive football team. The entire university community is committed to putting more fans in the stadium,” Nichols said. Head Coach Bobby Johnson, entering his third season with the Commodores, welcomes the upcoming announcement. “Having larger home crowds cheering for Vanderbilt will have a very positive impact on our team. We look forward to creating many more Commodore fans,” Johnson said. The Vanderbilt six-game home schedule features a Sept. 4 season opener against South Carolina. The Commodores also host SEC West foe Mississippi State early in the season before having Florida and Tennessee visit in late-season encounters. |
