With the start of the 2004 Vanderbilt Baseball season less than two weeks away, the coaches and players can’t wait to get the season going. Each weekday leading up to first pitch, VUCommodores.com will sit down with the three Commodore seniors and the four coaches in a segment we call — 10 Questions With.

VUCommodores.com: What is the best baseball movie of all-time?
Erik Bakich: Bull Durham.

VU: What web site do you check first everyday?
EB: baseballamerica.com or teamonebaseball.com

VU: What CD is in your player right now?
EB: Cold Play.

VU: Who on the team talks the best chatter?
EB: Nick Pilkington (it’s just jibberish)… I still don’t know what he is saying.

VU: What’s the most obscure place you’ve ever played baseball?
EB: Starkville,Miss.

VU: What is the biggest game on the schedule this year (to you personally)?
EB: Whoever we are playing on June 27th.

VU: What major league ballpark would you like to play in?
EB: Coors Field… my only chance to hit a home run.

VU: What pregame/in-game superstitions do you have?
EB: 8 cups of coffee; then I try to trade jerseys with one of the players.

VU: How do you break in a new glove?
EB: Play catch/mink oil/shaving cream/run over it with the car.

VU: Tell us some interesting fact about you.
EB: I played catch with Willie Mays in 1992 in Candlestick Park. He was 62 years old and still had a cannon for an arm.
