Women’s Cross Country Competes in the Cardinal Classic 10/4/2003 While half of the Commodores competed last night in the Notre Dame Invitational, the rest of the Women’s Cross Country team ran today in the Cardinal Classic, held in Louisville, KY. The Commodores placed 11th with a score of 300 in the 5K race. The University of Kentucky took the team title, with 37 points, and Kentucky senior Caitlin Phillips took home individual honors (17:36.37). Vanderbilt was led by sophomore Brittany Sizer (19:59.54, 51st). Also scoring for the Commodores were freshman Jena Richard (20:15.72, 64th), sophomore Joanna Serago (20:17.05, 65th), freshman Lindsey Brown (20:34.83, 74th), sophomore Anna Bishop (20:46.70, 84th), and sophomore Whitney Thurman (20:51.56, 86th). The Commodores have an off week, then split up again with half of the team traveling to Fayetteville, AK for the Chili Pepper Invite, and the other half going to Chattanooga for the UT-Chattanooga Invite on Saturday, October 18.
