Women’s Golf to Kentucky 10/2/2003 Vanderbilt’s women’s golf team will join 17 other teams for the University of Kentucky Wildcat Fall Invitational, to be played Friday-Sunday at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington. The Commodores are fresh from their third place finish in the Mason Rudolph Championship. Coach Martha Freitag expects her team to once again be a strong contender for the championship. Sarah Jacobs, third individually a week ago, Courtney Wood, May Wood, Chris Brady and Kristen Svicarovich comprise the Vanderbilt squad once again. The practice round for the tourney is today with championship play beginning Friday with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. (ET). A trip to the nearby Keeneland Racetrack for an evening picnic is planned for the tournament field after the first round. Saturday’s format will see individuals teeing off Holes 1 and 10 at 9:00 o’clock with Sunday’s start scheduled for 8:30. The Commodores are paired with host Kentucky and South Florida in Friday’s opening round. |
