Men’s Cross Country Places Second at the UTC-Invitational 10/19/2003 Men’s Cross Country Places Second at the UTC-Invitational The Vanderbilt Men’s Cross Country team came away with their best finsih of the year at the UTC-Invitational held Saturday in Chattanooga, TN. The Commodores ended the day with 50 points, just behind host team Chattanoga, who won the meet with 21 points. Individual honors went to Chattanooga’s Steven Kocsis, who finished the 5K race with a time of 15:13. Vanderbilt was led by John Cote (9, 16:03), Tyler Harlan (10, 16:05), Mike Gaske (11, 16:21), Eric Walle (12, 16:25), and Matt Doll (13, 16:28). Also scoring for Vanderbilt were Mike Gabrys (16, 17:05), and Taylor Hindle (17, 17:10). James Guthrie (19, 17:20) and Ariel Prater (31, 18:45) also finished the race for Vanderbilt. The Commodores do not compete again until the SEC Championships on November 3. |
