Men’s Golf to Carpet Classic 10/1/2003
Men’s Golf to Carpet Classic Vanderbilt’s men’s golf team competes Friday through Sunday at the Carpet Classic Collegiate at The Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Georgia. Coach Press McPhaul says the 18 team field will be one of the strongest in the nation this year with 15 of the teams ranked in the Top 25, including defending NCAA champion Clemson. “One of our goals for the year — and for this tournament — will be to get off to a better start than we have been doing on the first day,” says Coach Press McPhaul. “Even at our own Mason Rudolph Championship on our home turf we were 11th after the first day. I have been very proud of how we fight and scrap to get back into contention at many events but we need to find a way to avoid getting too far behind early.” McPhaul will take the same five Commodores that played in the Mason Rudolph event. They include Lance Goodson, Ben McClung, Luke List, Dos Goldsmith and Mark Donnell. |
