Evanston, Ill. – The Vanderbilt Commodores fell to DePaul 1-0, in final action of the North Shore Classic hosted by Northwestern University. The Commodores are now 0-1-1 on the season after playing to a 1-1 tie with host Northwestern Saturday in double overtime. Jamie Burns (6-2, 187, Jr./Tr., Minnetonka, Minn.) held DePaul scoreless at goal in the first half. At the 58:12 mark, DePaul’s Luke Rojo scored on a cross from the right side (Patrick Vyncke) that just squeezed under the crossbar. Vanderbilt totaled nine shots, including two shots on goal. DePaul numbered 10 shots with four shots on goal. The Commodores continue action on the road when they travel to Burlington, Vermont, for the Vermont University Smith Barney Soccer Classic. Vanderbilt plays Vermont Friday (Sept. 5) at 4:30 pm ET and New Hampshire Sunday (Sept. 12) at 11:30 am ET.
