Women’s Soccer Defeats No. 20 Clemson 3-0 in Exhibition 8/24/2003 The Commodore women’s soccer team recorded a 3-0 win over #20 Clemson in exhibition action in Atlanta, Ga., Sunday afternoon. Senior Jennifer Lewis (Birmingham, Ala.) scored in the opening minute of the game and senior Laura Hershenow (Littleton, Colo.) added another Vanderbilt goal before halftime. Emily Wilpers (Marietta, Ga.) scored the final goal for the Commodores in the second half and goalies Esther Thompson and Stacee Sproul combined for the shutout. The Commodores open the regular season on the road Friday (Aug.29) when they play Marquette. |
