Snedeker Begins Palmer Cup Thursday

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Vanderbilt’s Brandt Snedeker is paired with North Carolina’s Dustin Bray in Thursday morning’s four-ball matches that kick off the 2003 Palmer Cup. The Palmer Cup is a prestigious match-play competition between the United States and their counterparts from across the Atlantic.

Pairings for the morning four-ball matches were set Wednesday with the first tee time scheduled for 8 a.m. ET. This annual competition will be played at the distinguished Cassique at The Kiawah Island Club.

The first four-ball match will be contested between first-team PING All-Americans Bill Haas and Chris Nallen of the United States and three-time PING All-America selection Oliver Wilson and Outback Steakhouse Arnold Palmer Award winner Alejandro Ca?izares for Team Europe. The second match will pit first-team PING All-American recipients Dustin Bray and Brandt Snedeker from Team USA against Spanish Amateur Champion Gonzolo Fdez.-Casta?o and two-time PING All-American David Inglis of Europe.

Wales National Champion David Price and David Skinns of Europe will face PING All-Americans Adam Rubinson and Peter Tomasulo in the third match. In the final match of the morning, PING All-Americans Jason Hartwick and Ryan Moore of Team USA will square off against P?r Nilsson and Wilhelm Schauman of Team Europe.

Pairings for the afternoon singles matches will submitted by the respective coaches during play Thursday morning.

The U.S. team leads the Palmer Cup Series, 4-1-1, and has won all three matches in the United States.
