NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt track and field team will head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, for the Crimson Tide Invitational, while a pair of heptathletes compete at the Joe Walker Invitational in Oxford, Mississippi, to continue the Commodores’ outdoor track and field season.
The Dores were last in action at Florida Relays, where Lena Gooden and Falon Spearman broke their own school records in the long jump and 100-meter hurdles, respectively, and Jayden Hill reset the program standard in the 800 meters. Vandy’s distance runners had the weekend off, having last competed at Raleigh Relays earlier in March. At that event, Lily Kriegel and Tyla Lumley broke school records in the 5,000 and 10,000-meter races.
This will be the first meet of the season where Vandy’s multi-event student-athletes will compete in a full heptathlon. Senior Marta Sivina and graduate Gianna Bullock are set to take on the seven-event gauntlet in Oxford. The meet will be streamed on SEC Network+ on Friday and Saturday, and live results will be available online.
The rest of the Commodores will be competing at the Crimson Tide Invitational on Friday with events beginning at 3:30 p.m. Live results will be available on pttiming.com.
