NASHVILLE, Tenn. – USA Track & Field named Vanderbilt cross country and track and field assistant coach Lisa Morgan an assistant coach for Team USA for the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championships, which will be March 21-23 in Nanjing, China.
“I am deeply grateful for the blessings the Lord has given me,” Morgan said. “Being appointed as the women’s distance coach for Team USA on the world stage is an incredible honor and privilege. Serving in this role while coaching the distance runners at Vanderbilt makes it even more special. Anchor Down! Let’s go, USA!”
This will be Morgan’s seventh time coaching for Team USA but her first time working with a senior team. She will guide the women’s distance athletes in Nanjing, including 2022 U.S. champion in the 1,500 meters Sinclaire Johnson, 2020 Tokyo Olympian Heather MacLean, 2016 Rio Olympian and World Record holder in the 4×1,500-meter relay Shelby Houlihan and 2024 Paris Olympian Whittni Morgan.
The World Athletics Indoor Championships will begin on March 20 at 9:05 p.m. CT.
