Mohr’s Double Leads Dores

Sophomore picks up wins in singles and doubles on second day of ITA event

SAN DIEGO — Célia-Belle Mohr picked up her second victory in as many days Thursday, and she added a win in doubles later in the day as Vanderbilt women’s tennis continued competition at the ITA National Fall Championship.

Mohr began the day with her first singles victory of the season over a top-10 opponent in the Round of 16, then teamed with Anessa Lee for a straight-sets defeat of a pair from Denver in their first consolation match in the doubles draw. Bridget Stammel also competed in consolation singles play, falling to an opponent from fellow SEC member Florida.

Mohr will be back in action Thursday at the Barnes Tennis Center when she faces Emma Charney of USC in quarterfinal action in the singles bracket.
