CORAL GABLES, Fla. — No. 21 Vanderbilt women’s tennis added multiple wins from its top three singles positions in day two of the Miami Spring Invite.
No. 26 ranked junior Bridget Stammel opened the day up for the Dores with a swift 6-3, 6-3 victory over NC State’s Maddy Zampardo. Célia-Belle Mohr continued the momentum for Vandy, downing the Wolfpack’s Kristina Paskauskas 6-2, 6-2 moments after. No. 78 Valeria Ray also picked up a win against NC State, outlasting Gabriella Broadfoot for a 6-4, 6-3 win. Mohr and Ray remain unbeaten in singles play through two days of matches in Coral Gables.
Mohr collected her second win of the day alongside junior Sonya Macavei in doubles. The pair took care of Miami’s Aely Arai and Savannah Webster, the twin sister of freshman Sophia Webster. Macavei is the lone Dore without a loss in doubles at the event thus far.
Vanderbilt closes out the Miami Invite on Sunday. The Dores match up against the Sooners of Oklahoma in doubles at 9 a.m. before taking on Miami in singles at not before 10 a.m. Live streaming is available online, with day three live stats accessible here at the start of tomorrow’s matches.
