Célia-Belle Mohr advances to ITA All-American Championships Main Draw

CARY, N.C. ­– Vanderbilt women’s tennis student-athlete Celia-Belle Mohr continued her impressive run at the ITA All-American Championships, advancing to the Main Draw thanks to her performance in the qualifying round on Tuesday.

Mohr’s journey at the Championships began Oct. 1 in the prequalifying round. She went 3-0 to advance to the qualifying round. There she posted a victory on Monday before two more singles wins on Tuesday to move to 6-0 overall at the event.

Mohr was a straight-set winner in her first match on Tuesday by a score of 6-1, 6-2 over Ohio State’s Sydni Ratliff. In the match to secure her place in the Main Draw, Mohr battled Iowa State’s Thasaport Naklo to a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 victory.

Mohr will represent the Commodores in the Main Draw for singles beginning Wednesday. In doubles, the pairing of Anna Ross and Holly Staff are in action on Wednesday as well.
