The 18th-ranked Vanderbilt’s men’s golf team hopes to put an exclamation point on its fall season this Monday and Tuesday at the Arkansas State University Fall Beach Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala. The tournament will be a 54-hole event at the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club, with 36 holes played on Monday and 18 on Tuesday and play beginning at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The Commodores’ final fall event features Arkansas State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Troy, Nicholls State, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, Murray State, Tennessee-Martin, Illinois State, New Orleans, Rice, and Texas-Pan American.

“I have been telling our guys that we need to demand more from each other every single day,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “You have to go out with focus every single day and continue be more consistent in everything we do. A season is a cumulative effect from week to week and we want to build off some of the positive areas we have had this fall. I’m very excited about this final fall event and getting a chance to take the guys south and play a good golf course. The guys have continued to work hard and they are excited about the opportunity they have to play this weekend.”

Vanderbilt has had quite the fall season, capturing their own Mason Rudolph Championship and finishing second at a stacked field at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational, as well as holding their own at one of the nation’s premiere collegiate tournaments, the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.

Competing for the Commodores on Monday and Tuesday are junior Charlie Ewing, sophomores Ben Fogler, Jordan Janico, and Hunter Stewart, and freshman John Voetsch.

There will be no live scoring for the tournament, so tuned to vucommodores.com as results come in from the event.
