Live Scoring

The Commodore men’s golf team returns to the left coast for the second time in the young 2011-12 campaign where they will compete in The Prestige at PGA West in LaQuinta, Calif., on the Greg Norman Course. Vanderbilt opened their season over the Labor Day weekend at the Carmel Cup at the world famous Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hills golf courses.

Vanderbilt will be competing in a stellar field at The Prestige – the field includes (Golfstat rankings in parenthesis) – Oregon (2), UCF (6), Stanford (12), San Diego (64), San Francisco (90), Vanderbilt (101), Northwestern (103), Duke (119), Arizona State (133), Long Beach State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, USC, Washington, and UC Davis.

Representing the Commodores will be seniors Adam Hofmann and Trey DelGreco, sophomores Charlie Ewing and Mills Rendell, and freshman Hunter Stewart. DelGreco leads the team in scoring average at 72.5 strokes per round. Stewart has the team’s lowest round of the season after posting a 66 in the final round of the Mason Rudolph Championship on September 25.

After practice rounds on Friday and Saturday at the par-72, 7,156-yard Norman Course, 18 holes will be played Sunday through Tuesday. A 12:30 p.m. shotgun start is set for Sunday and Monday, with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun on Tuesday.

Notes:
– This will be the first time Vanderbilt has seen any of these schools in 2011-12.

– Vanderbilt is one of only four teams east of the Mississippi River that will compete at The Prestige. The other three schools are UCF, Duke, and Northwestern.

– DelGreco is hoping for a repeat performance to California this weekend. DelGreco finished second at the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach.

– The Commodores are participating in The Prestige for the second consecutive year. Last season, Vanderbilt finished 10th and were led by then-senior Ryan Haselden, who finished in a tie for 13th.
