MG concludes SEC Championship

Final Results

SEA ISLAND, Ga. – Junior Adam Hofmann put together Vanderbilt’s best round of the weekend with a one-over par, 71, on Sunday in the final round of the 2011 SEC Men’s Championship at the Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course. The Commodores finished the tournament in 12th place with a total of 906 (299-308-299) for the weekend.

Hofmann led Vanderbilt for the weekend, ending the tournament tied for 36th with a total of 223 (7-75-71). The Pittsburgh, Pa., native had a steady round on Sunday with 15 pars, two bogeys, and one birdie on the 16th hole. Freshman Mills Rendell was next for Vanderbilt, ending the SEC Championship in 47th place with a score of 227 (76-74-77).

Florida captured the team championship by six strokes over Alabama with a score of 848 (285-282-281). Florida’s Andres Echavarria and LSU’s John Peterson each finished atop the individual leaderboard with a one-under par, 209.
