Nashville, Tenn. –

What’s the best part about Vanderbilt so far?
“I love the team, we all get along really well. I just like being in the Commons and meeting people. I love meeting people.”

What’s the hardest part about Vandy?
“School, it’s a lot. It’s definitely a step up from senior year. I’m getting used to it.”

What’s your hardest class?
“Econ!”

What’s it mean to be a Commodore to you?
“The hard work and everything that all of us put into our schoolwork, and how much pride we have and dedication to our team and what we want to do this season.”

How does the college experience differ from the high school experience?
“It’s different from last year because I’m not the leader on the team anymore, and that’s kind of nice. I look up to Louise and Alexa and Jordan a lot. And especially in workouts, they’re always there to help me get through everything. They give a lot of advice, they’re very open, anytime we need them. We’re really lucky. Louise is like the mom, but also a best friend. We can tell her anything.”

How was the last thousand at the Roy Griak?
“Coach Riley was like, ‘Get to the finish! You can make it!’ It was really rough. There was this Washington girl who just collapsed, sometimes your legs just give out. There was this little hill at the end before you got to the finish straight, and that was just rough. I’ve never run a 6K before. We always did 5Ks in high school. I thought it was really fun, but the 4-5K, it was hard that it wasn’t the last K, that there was one more after that.”

What most impresses you about your coaches?
“How they listen to us and adapt our training to how we feel. Like today, my legs hurt so bad, I could do one less mile. I feel more comfortable saying, ‘I don’t feel good today.'”
