Lexington, Ky. – Meagan Martin vaulted to a new personal record as the Commodores opened their weekend at the Kentucky Invitational with the vault and long jump events.
“She jumped really well,” said head coach Steve Keith. “She was just barely shy of breaking the school record.”
Martin, a senior, cleared the bar at 12’2.5 (3.73m) as she set a new personal record for herself. Her vault was a quarter of an inch short of tying the Vanderbilt all-time record.
The jumps events continue tomorrow with high jumpers Brionne Williams, Ellie Tidman and Erin Edmonds jumping at 10:30 a.m. ET/ 9:30 a.m. CT.
