List Third at All-America Classic

Nov. 21, 2006

EL PASO, Texas — Despite setting a tournament record on Monday by shooting a first-round 62, Vanderbilt senior Luke List was unable to hold off a charge from Georgia’s Chris Kirk, and placed third at the 32nd Annual Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic.

The event was played on the El Paso Country Club par-71, 6,817-yard layout.

A native of Ringgold, Ga., List held a one-stroke lead through two rounds before going over par in Tuesday’s final round.

Kirk and Florida’s Billy Horschel, who tied List’s record for lowest round with a 62 on Monday afternoon, both passed List on Tuesday. ETSU’s Rhys Davies and Georgia’s Brendon Todd tied for fourth place.

The event, which List won by one stroke over Kirk in 2005, featured 28 of the nation’s top golfers playing 54 holes in two days.
