NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt junior Kellianne Kleeman was named to the Southeastern Conference Women’s Track and Field Community Service Team, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
“Kellianne is a super representative of Vanderbilt and our program and we appreciate her sincere interest in giving back to the community,” Vanderbilt cross country head coach Steve Keith said. “It takes a special person to balance a rigorous academic load with athletics and community service and Kellianne is just that.”
Kleeman has turned in over 200 community service hours during the fall and spring semesters. She served as the main organizer for Squirrel Camp, a freshman orientation camp and has also been involved with the Students for Kenya organization. The Klamath Falls, Ore., native has also worked with the Lwala Benefit and the Live It! Go for the Red, White and Blue program with the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to her community in superior service efforts.
