LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore sprinter Taylor Jackson and freshman middle distance runner Jordan White ran to season-high marks in their respected events, leading the Commodore track and field team at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday.

Jackson started the day by posting a season-high time of 7.73 in the 60-meter dash, placing 19th overall. Jackson’s mark of 7.73 tops her previous high of 7.79 in which she set at the Iowa State Classic on Feb. 14. A few hours later the Cleveland, Ohio native set a personal indoor record in the 200-meter dash with a 24.93, taking first-place honors in the sixth heat of the preliminaries. Jackson’s 200-time was three-tenths of a second faster than her previous season-high and ranks second all-time in the school’s record books.

Freshman Jordan White continued her strong indoor season in the 800-meter run Saturday, running a season-best 2:12.91. White’s mark put her in the middle of the pack of the strong field and was the fourth best 800 time recorded by a freshman.

Vanderbilt is looking forward to the distance medley relay tomorrow as they enter the relay with a seed time of 11:40.28. Vanderbilt’s season-high DMR team of Rita Jorgensen, Teegan Hill, Jordan White and Louise Hannallah posted a top-five finish at the first day of the competitive ISU Classic.

The Commodores will return to the Nutter Field House tomorrow for the third and final day of the SEC Indoor Championships. Sunday’s events will get underway starting with the women’s high jump and men’s men’s weight throw at 11 a.m. ET.
