Athletic Training

Vanderbilt Athletic Training is looking for volunteer Sports Medicine Aides to work with the certified athletic trainers and athletic training students taking care of several sports teams. Depending on the sport, these volunteers would assist with practice preparation, athletic training room organization, and operation and assist with hydration during practices. We are looking for a minimum commitment of at least two days a week for approximately four hours per day. This position is an unpaid, volunteer position. Basketball Manager

Men’s Basketball

  • The men’s basketball team will be looking to add student-managers for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The time required to work would be between 15-20 hours per week and these positions are 100% voluntary and there is no compensation for the work, although we will definitely need a high level of commitment. Women’s Basketball

  • Women’s basketball is looking for undergraduate students interested in contributing to the day-to-day operations of an SEC basketball program. The student manager position is a paid position. Typical responsibilities during practices include setting up and breaking down for practice, rebounding, running the clock, filming, keeping stats, and more. Typical game day responsibilities include setting out uniforms, locker room setup, rebounding, helping with towels and waters on the bench, mopping and more. Other duties outside of practice may include helping with equipment, laundry, office work, and more. Additional benefits include free gear and the opportunity to travel. Community Engagement

The Vanderbilt Athletics department seeks a Summer Community Engagement Intern (May-August). The Community Engagement Intern will work hand-in-hand with the Community Engagement Coordinator to support the Marketing and Community Engagement team.

This internship position is responsible for day-to-day community engagement operations. The intern will have the opportunity to interact with Athletic Department staff and various community partners. This position will focus on grassroots events in the local community. It will require travel to and from events. This role will assist with various projects and daily activities. The Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of community efforts and events. From assisting with event templates and plans to providing administrative support, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of our events and create memorable experiences for the community.

Equipment

The Equipment Department is currently accepting applicants for Fall 2026 student workers. We are looking for students passionate about collegiate athletics and eager to gain experience within an SEC athletic department.

Olympic Sports Equipment Intern
This position supports the equipment needs of all Olympic sports (excluding football). Responsibilities include inventory management, gear distribution, receiving packages, and organizing equipment for practices and competitions.

Interns will gain practical experience in a fast-paced environment. Additional benefits include Nike team gear, valuable networking opportunities within collegiate athletics, and a limited number of paid positions are available.

Facilities & Event Management

The Facilities and Event Management department is currently accepting applicants for Fall 2025 internship, volunteer, and part-time opportunities. Individuals will assist full-time staff members in the execution of home events, special events, and daily facility operations based on work demands and scheduling. 

Staff in this role will be responsible for assisting with event setup and breakdown, coordinating logistics with other departments before and during events, maintaining facilities to the highest standard, and providing superior customer service to fans, student-athletes, and stakeholders.

This role may at times include physical labor and a non-traditional schedule. Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk/stand/crouch at times for extended periods of time, and work in all weather conditions.The schedule includes nights, weekends, holidays, and all home football games.

Fan Engagement & Hospitality

As a Fan Engagement and Hospitality intern, you will play an important role in enhancing the overall fan experience at games and events. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals passionate about sports, customer service, and event coordination.

Key responsibilities include assisting in planning and execution of fan activations, supporting game day operations (tailgating for football season, kids’ zone and activities, etc.), coordinate and track on Mr. C’s Kids’ Club, assist in fan services, and assist other areas with events and needs.

Marketing & Fan Experience

Vanderbilt University Athletics Marketing Internship Application 2026-27 Academic Year

Marketing Intern positions hosted by the Vanderbilt Athletics Marketing department offers students the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of marketing, promotions, and game management in college athletics while helping to deliver memorable experiences for the Vanderbilt community. Interns may develop industry-specific and transferable skills such as time management, effective communication, teamwork, event planning and production, creative problem-solving, and leadership.

There are three types of Marketing Intern positions available:

  • Marketing and Promotions Student Assistant (Closes 4/26 at 11:59 p.m.) (Paid)
    • Contribute 8-12 office hours a week, which will include responsibilities of project management, database management, research and planning, organization, sport-specific assignments, and other duties as needed
    • Create and implement marketing and promotions plans for select sports and special events while serving as the marketing manager for assigned sport(s) and/or events
    • Spearhead and/or assist with grassroots marketing on campus and in the community, including the distribution of promotional materials at select events
  • Digital Marketing Student Assistant (Closes 4/26 at 11:59 p.m.) (Paid)
    • Assist in the creation, scheduling, and execution of email marketing campaigns using Oracle Eloqua.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop digital content strategies and
    • Assist in analyzing email performance metrics and digital
    • Aid in the creation of digital assets for campaigns (graphics, copy, subject lines).

All interns may receive course credit if desired. All Interns must be available to work all football home games.

 

Candidates will help support the marketing and promotional efforts for Vanderbilt athletics. Internship positions are for the Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 semester, with the opportunity to continue yearly until graduation. Internships can be completed for course credit.

Typical office tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Working on a team to execute gameday marketing and fan experience efforts
  • Researching promotional and marketing materials
  • Planning and executing grassroots marketing efforts on campus and in the local community
  • Researching and databasing targets for potential sales
  • Assist in the office researching, planning, and preparing for athletic events
  • Other duties as assigned

Intern Eligibility Criteria:

 All intern applicants should:

  • Be a current undergraduate or graduate student in the local Nashville area
  • Be competent with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Have a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and goal-oriented
  • Be motivated, reliable, trustworthy, and possess detail-oriented and customer service-oriented qualities
  • Desire a career in athletics marketing or marketing
  • Be willing to work events including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Have transportation to get to and from Vanderbilt’s campus for events and office hours

National Commodore Club

Vanderbilt’s National Commodore Club and Black & Gold Club are seeking volunteer student coordinators to support the planning and execution of key events and initiatives for Athletics Development.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are interested in working in a fast-paced environment and gaining hands-on experience across multiple sports. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in a variety of areas, including event logistics, donor engagement, and operations support. Coordinators should be prepared for physical labor and a non-traditional schedule, including some nights and weekends.

While the position is unpaid, it is ideal for students seeking class credit and real-world experience in the sports and development field.

Nutrition

Are you passionate about sports, nutrition, or both? The Vanderbilt Sports Nutrition Department seeks motivated student volunteers to gain real-world experience working alongside our Sports Dietitians and supporting our 16 athletic teams.

As a volunteer, you’ll play an essential role in:

  • Supporting our Sports Dietitians during practices and competitions
  • Assisting with daily fueling operations
  • Helping manage inventory, stocking, and organization at the Olympic Fueling Station and other fueling sites
  • Contributing to team nutrition initiatives and special projects

Social Dores (Digital Media)

The Athletics Social Dores program is designed to give valuable real-world social media management and leadership opportunities to Vanderbilt students.Focusing on real-time content creation and publishing, students will be exposed to multiple scenarios challenging them to think creatively and problem solve in a high-paced environment. Working directly with the athletics social media team, and working closely with athletic communications, these students will greatly benefit the Social Dores athletics program at Vanderbilt University.

When students enter the program, they’ll join a team that grows and educates them in an ever-changing social media world. As they advance in the ranks of the program, they’ll have more leadership opportunities and ability to expand their responsibilities, potentially including overseeing on-field content creation, traveling with teams, and covering practice and/or training camps.

Ticketing

The ticket office is looking for motivated individuals who are interested in learning more about the collegiate sports industry and expanding their knowledge and skills.  Interns will be part of a fast-paced environment and play a key role to the ticket operations department. They will gain experience in customer service, a deep understanding of Vanderbilt’s ticketing provider, student ticketing and how an SEC ticket office operates behind the scenes.

The Fall semester sports include football, volleyball, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball. Availability will be dependent on your schedule. This is an unpaid position, but students can sign up to gain course credits.
