Three Commodores to represent Vanderbilt track and field at the NCAA Indoor Championships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Commodores will end their indoor track and field season when Janie Ford, Marta Sivina and Falon Spearman compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas, beginning on Friday.

Ford and Sivina will kick off competition for the Dores with the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles at 11:15 a.m. Ford, named the SEC Freshman Field Athlete of the Year, won the event at the conference championships, becoming the first freshman ever to do so. Her score of 4,373 points is a school record and ranks sixth among the 16-woman field. Sivina narrowly missed the podium at the SEC Championships, finishing fourth overall with a personal-best score of 4,269 points, which is No. 3 in Vandy history and No. 12 in NCAA Division I.

Spearman will make her second appearance at the NCAA Championships after qualifying for the outdoor national championships last June. Having reset her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles three times this season, Spearman’s personal-best time of 8.07 seconds is tied for 14th nationally.

Action at the NCAA Indoor Championships will be streamed on ESPN+, and live results are available online.
