Daniel Harris is in his second year serving in Baseball Operations for the Vanderbilt Baseball team. Daniel along with senior catcher Andrew Giobbi will provide updates during the team’s trip to Japan this week.

The trip to Japan was an adventure in its own right. The team arrived at Hawkins Field at 3 a.m. for a pre-flight run and workout. The energy level was high before the lift, peaking with a pre-workout dance off featuring Jack Armstrong and Joe Loftus (video to be available post trip)! After the workout a breakfast feast from McDonald’s was devoured and then the team boarded the bus for the Nashville Airport. Coach Corbin set the goal of staying up till the team arrived in Dallas and in order to adjust to the 15-hour time difference.

In Dallas, the team boarded a Boeing 777 jet to Tokyo. Each seat included a personal television and the team watched many B-level movies and TV shows in between naps. New assistant coach/recruiting coordinator, Josh Holliday, claimed to watch all 20 shows available in the database.

14 hours later at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, the plane touched down at Narita International Airport. The team curfew was set at 10:30PM, in preparation for tomorrow’s game at Hosei University.

Here are some of Alex Levitt’s photos from the trip so far.
