Hampshire Honor Society Welcomes Four Dores

Joe Bulovas, Charlie Dallape, Michael Owusu and Gavin Schoenwald honored by the National Football Foundation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Four Vanderbilt football players were recognized by the National Football Foundation as members of the Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday as Joe Bulovas, Charlie Dallape, Michael Owusu and Gavin Schoenwald were selected.

The Hampshire Honor Society recognizes graduating players who have exhausted their eligibility, achieving a cumulative undergraduate grade-point average of at least 3.2, while also being a starter or significant contributor on the field. The National Football Foundation recognizes players for the accomplishment annually across all divisions of college football.

All four accomplished the undergraduate GPA benchmark before enrolling as graduate students at Vanderbilt to cap their collegiate careers last fall. Owusu and Schoenwald earned undergraduate degrees from Vanderbilt before enrolling in graduate school.

Scheonwald received a degree in human and organizational development and is pursuing a master’s degree in marketing from the Owen Graduate School. Owusu graduated from Vanderbilt with a degree in medicine, health and society before pursuing a master’s in learning, diversity and urban study.

Bulovas received his undergraduate degree as a player at Alabama and is working towards a master’s in human development studies from the Peabody College. Dallape is a graduate of Brown and enrolled in Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School, pursuing a master’s in finance.

The quartet gives Vanderbilt 35 Hampshire Honor Society members in its history, dating back to safety Ben Koger in 2007. Scott Meyer, Connor Mignone and Andre Mintze were the most recent selections in 2020.

The 2023 edition of the Commodores opens the season on Aug. 26 when Hawai’i visits FirstBank Stadium. Season tickets are on sale now.
