Senior Sarah Goodale picked up where she left off in the Heptathlon on Friday after setting three personal-best marks in the first four events on Friday. Goodale finished second overall and broke her old personal record with 5,199 points, which moves her up to fifth all-time in Vanderbilt history.
The Commodores saw four other personal-best marks set in the 1500-meter run. Reagan Bustamante and Ginger Hutton led the way with times of 4:27.07 and 4:31.93, respectively, which were good for fifth and 14th place. The other duo of personal-best times in the race came from Devon Grisbaum and Kacie Breeding, who correspondingly finished with times of 4:44.79 and 4:50.85.
Freshman Becca Schulte set a pair of personal-best times on Friday in the 200 and 400-meter dashes. Schulte finished 16th with a time of 56.26 in the 400-meter dash and 32nd with a time of 25.35 in the 200-meter dash. Junior Jenn Edobi also competed in the 200-meter dash and finished 14th with a time of 24.29.
Vanderbilt’s two freshmen pole vaulters matched outdoor season personal bests at the meet and finished in the top 10. Caleigh Lofstead finished fourth with a height of 13′ 1.50″ (4.00m) and Margaret Ollinger cleared the bar at 12′ 7.50″ (3.85m), which earned her a seventh-place finish.
Courtney Clayton placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.27 and Lydia Witty placed 12th with a time of 2:13.59.
