WINDERMERE, Fla. – Vanderbilt’s men’s golf team rebounded today to finish ninth in a field of 16 teams at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.

The Commodores had their best round of the competition, shooting 300 to finish the 54 holes at 909. Georgia won the event, shooting a one-under composite total of 863. Oklahoma State was second, ten shots back.

Luke List retained his steady play, shooting a one-over 73 to finish in a three-way tie for eighth place. He was one-over for the tournament, eight shots back of co-medalists Pablo Martin of Oklahoma State and Chris Kirk of Georgia.

Ben McClung has his best round at 74 while Brett Lange and Dos Goldsmith had rounds of 75 Tuesday. Mark Donnell struggled with a 79.

Day One

Vanderbilt’s men’s golf team is in 11th place at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational in Windemere, Fla., after 36 holes of play.

The Commodores struggled through Monday rounds of 302-307–609 and sit well off the pace established by Georgia, which turned in rounds of 287-290–577. Georgia Tech is in second place, two shots behind.

Vanderbilt’s Luke List is tied for ninth with one round to play. List had rounds of 72-72-144. No other Commodore was close to par; Brett Lange shot 150 on 18’s of 77-73, Mark Donnell is at 155, Dos Goldsmith shot 160 and Ben McClung came in at 163.

There is a three-way tie for first place between Georgia Tech’s Roberto Castro, Oklahoma State’s Pablo Martin and Florida’s Matt Avery. All shot 137.

The tournament concludes tomorrow with 18 holes at the Isleworth Country Club.
