Vanderbilt unveils 2023 baseball schedule

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt will host 32 games at Hawkins Field and play 55 contests, highlighting the complete 2023 schedule unveiled by head coach Tim Corbin.

For the first time since the 2020 season, Vanderbilt will open the campaign on the road when the Commodores begin their spring slate with their first appearance in the College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field—home of the Texas Rangers.

The third annual tournament is scheduled for Feb. 17–19 and features six of the nation’s top programs. Vanderbilt will be joined by Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas.

The Commodores begin a six-game homestand Feb. 21 against Central Arkansas. The stretch includes a weekend series against UCLA (Feb. 24-26) as well as midweek games against UAB (Feb. 22) and Austin Peay (Feb. 28).

Vanderbilt will travel to Minneapolis to begin the month of March, competing in the Cambria College Classic at U.S. Bank Stadium – the home of the Minnesota Vikings. The Commodores will face a trio of Big Ten opponents in Minnesota (March 3), Nebraska (March 4) and Maryland (March 5).

Vandy will return home for a pair of midweeks against Tennessee Tech (March 7) and Evansville (March 8) prior to hosting Loyola Marymount on March 10-12 for its final weekend series before conference play.

Vanderbilt opens SEC play at home for the third year in a row, as the squad welcomes Ole Miss to Hawkins Field from March 17-29. The Commodores will also host league foes Georgia (March 31-April 2), South Carolina (April 14-16), Kentucky (April 28-30) and Arkansas (May 19-21).

The SEC road slate includes trips to Mississippi State (March 24-26), Missouri (April 6-8), Tennessee (April 21-23), Alabama (May 5-7) and Florida (May 12-14).

Vanderbilt will also host midweek matchups against Western Kentucky (April 4), North Alabama (April 11), Indiana State (April 18), Georgia State (May 2) and Middle Tennessee State (May 16), while facing in-state foes Belmont (March 14) and Lipscomb (March 21) in neutral-site contests at First Horizon Park.

The annual Battle of the Barrel against Louisville will be renewed on May 3, as the Commodores will face the Cardinals on the road on May 9.
