WALNUT, Calif. — The Vanderbilt women’s track and field team completed Day 3 of events at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California.
To begin Friday’s competition, the 4×100-meter relay team of senior Madison Fuller, graduate student Taiya Shelby, sophomore Ella Escobar and freshman Allyria McBride notched the second-fastest time in Vanderbilt history, finishing the race in 45.66 seconds and claiming fifth place.
Freshman Mya Georgiadis clocked a personal-best time of 58.99 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, earning a third-place finish in the collegiate division.
To end the night’s events, senior Caroline Eck PRed by 17.68 seconds in the 5,000 meters, recording a time of 16:12.14, which is No. 4 in program history. She finished third among collegiate competitors and eighth overall in the elite division.
The fourth and final day of competition in Walnut will begin on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. CT when Shelby competes in the elite division of the 400 meters.
