Korn Ferry Tour makes stop in College Grove

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A trio of former Vanderbilt standouts will take part in this week’s Simmons Bank Open in College Grove.

The Korn Ferry Tour stop begins Thursday and includes John Augenstein, Theo Humphrey and Carson Jacobs in the field of participants.

After turning pro in December, Augenstein has played in six events with his best finish coming at The American Express in California in which he shot an even par. Augenstein, who received a sponsor’s exemption this week, also competed as an amateur in the U.S. Open and Masters Tournament last year.

Humphrey recently finished second at the Veritex Bank Championship in April. He also tied for second at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship in August.

Jacons last competed at the 61 Abierto Mexicano de Golf in March.

The Simmons Bank Open for the Snedeker Foundation – formerly the Nashville Golf Open – was first held at Nashville Golf and Athletic Club in 2016. It was announced Oct. 29 that the tournament would move to The Grove in College Grove beginning with the 2021 tournament.

Also beginning in 2021, the Tennessee Golf Foundation – a nonprofit organization that promotes golf and its life-enhancing values statewide – will operate the Simmons Bank Open.

The Snedeker Foundation has been the official charitable beneficiary of the Simmons Bank Open since 2017. Founded in 2012 by FedExCup Champion, nine-time PGA TOUR winner and former Vandy star Brandt Snedeker – and his wife Mandy Snedeker – the Snedeker Foundation supports a variety of social and athletic endeavors in middle Tennessee including Our Kids, which provides expert medical evaluations and crisis counseling services in response to concerns of child sexual abuse, and The Sneds Tour,a statewide junior golf tour in Tennessee that allows kids to learn, play and enjoy the game while also making the sport affordable and accessible.

The Grove opened in 2012 and offers an unparalleled golf experience in middle Tennessee and has quickly gained the reputation as one of the sate’s premier private golf facilities. The course features Zoysia fairways and Bermuda greens which are kept in championship playing condition year-round. It plays to a length of 7,300 yards from the championship tees.
