Commodore Call-In Show | Gameday Central
Vanderbilt officials are hoping for a standing room only audience Thursday evening at the Commodore Call-In Show featuring Head Coach James Franklin.
The call-in show, aired live on Vanderbilt’s flagship radio station 97.1 Classic Hits, will broadcast from the Commodore Grille located at the Holiday Inn Vanderbilt. It starts at 6 p.m.
“We want to see the Commodore Grille packed with Vanderbilt fans,” said Vanderbilt IMG Sports Network General Manager Jeff Miller. “It will be a great opportunity for fans to say hello to Coach Franklin just days before his first game as the Vanderbilt head coach. This will be a fun way for all Commodore fans to show their support of Coach Franklin and the team.”
The one-hour show with Franklin will be hosted again this season by Vanderbilt play-by-play announcer Joe Fisher.
This is the first season in a decade for the radio call-in show to air on Thursdays. Previously, the show has been staged on Mondays.
The Commodores will open the 2011 season this Saturday by hosting Elon of the Southern Conference. Kickoff for the game is 6:30 p.m., in Vanderbilt Stadium. The season opener features a discounted ticket ($12) and postgame fireworks.
