Vanderbilt’s Kristen Findley has qualified for the women’s 1,500 meters at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, Thursday-Sunday, June 20-23.
Findley, who owns the school record in the event, will run in the preliminaries on Thursday, June 20, at 4:40 p.m. CT. She will be in the second of two preliminary heats, with the top three in each heat, plus the next six-best times, advancing to the finals.
The finals will be run at 4:46 p.m. on Saturday, June 22nd.
Findley is capping her collegiate career with Vanderbilt after reaching the NCAA East Preliminary Round for the second consecutive season in 2013. She posted a school record time of 4:14.74 in the 1,500 meters at the Music City Distance Carnival on June 1 to qualify for the national championships.
The 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships serve as the selection event for the IAAF World Championships. The meet is being held at Drake University in Des Moines, home of the annual Drake Relays.
