JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Vanderbilt junior Kristen Findley is one race away from heading to the NCAA Championships in the 1,500 meters.
Findley clocked a time of 4:23.86 at the NCAA East Preliminary Round to qualify for Saturday’s quarterfinal race. That event will take place Saturday at 5:45 CT with the top-five finishers in each quarterfinal race, as well as the next top-two times, advancing to the NCAA Championships.
“It was a really good race for Kristen,” Vanderbilt Head Coach Steve Keith said. “There was more pressure in this round than there will be on Saturday and K-Fin handled it well. We can now relax and just race on Saturday.”
Action at the East Preliminary continues tomorrow, with Commodores competing in the pole vault and high jump. Saturday’s action will include the 5,000 meters in addition to the 1,500.
