GREENSBORO, N.C. — Kristen Findley was the final Commodore competing at the 2013 NCAA East Preliminary Round and she did not advance to the NCAA Championships in the 1,500 meters.

The senior, who will leave as the school record holder in the event, posted a time of 4:24.23 in the quarterfinals, which was good for 21st. The top 12 runners advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Findley caps a stellar career at Vanderbilt, that saw the former walk-on emerge to leave with four school records. She holds the individual record in the indoor 1,000 meters and outdoor 1,500 meters, while she was a part of school records in the indoor distance medley relay and outdoor 4×1,500 meter relay.

This caps the 2013 outdoor track season for Vanderbilt. It was a historic season for the Commodores, with the track program under the direction of Steve Keith for the second season. The team posted its highest point total at the SEC Championships since 2005, while sending a school record 11 competitors to the NCAA East Preliminary Round.
