NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Seven members of the Vanderbilt track and field team will be competing at the NCAA East Preliminaries this week in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Commodores will be the led by SEC Champion pole vaulter Kristen Denk. Denk cleared a school record 4.36 meters to take the crown. Caleigh Lofstead and Margaret Ollinger will join her in the competition on Friday at 5 p.m.
Denk is the first individual champion for the Commodores in 13 years, but the first pole vaulter to ever claim the title.
Grace Jensen will kick off action for Vanderbilt on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the 1,500-meter run. Should the freshman qualify, she will compete in the quarterfinal of the event on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Jenn Edobi, Reagan Bustamante and Haley Walker will each compete in the 800 meters on Thursday at 8:10 p.m. The quarterfinals of the event will be on Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
