Edobi and Nigeria finish seventh at IAAF World Relays

Jenn Edobi and the Nigerian National Team finished seventh overall in the 4×400 relay finals on Sunday evening in Nassau, Bahamas. Nigeria finished with a time of 3:32.94 and Edobi ran a 400-meter split of 54.20 while running the third leg of the race. The full standings from Sunday’s 4×400 relays are below:

Nigeria qualified for the finals by winning their heat during Saturday’s semifinals.

It was the second time in her career that Edobi had competed for the Nigerian National Team. She also ran for Nigeria in the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships. Vanderbilt assistant coach Donnie Young traveled to the Bahamas with Edobi and served as an assistant on the Nigerian coaching staff for this weekend’s meet.

The rest of the track team competed in the Virginia Challenge this weekend and set two new school records. Up next for the team will be the LSU Relays in Baton Rouge, La. on Apr. 28-29.
