Earley to Take Medical Leave

Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator expected to return ahead of season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Ashley Earley will take a brief medical leave of absence from the Vanderbilt women’s basketball program, head coach Shea Ralph has announced. Earley expects to return to the Commodores before the start of the upcoming season.

“Our program wishes Ashley a successful procedure, and we look forward to her making a full and healthy recovery,” Ralph said.

Kyla Irwin will assume the role of interim assistant coach effective immediately. Irwin, a four-year letter winner at Connecticut from 2016 to 2020, currently is the program’s director of player development and community relations.

Vanderbilt opens the season on Nov. 7 at Western Kentucky.
