“It was fun getting back out and competing again,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “We played really well today as a group and thought the guys showed a lot of their character. Matthias and Theo were both bogey free in some pretty tough conditions which was great. In the end, we were just too far behind another good team and they made some shots down the stretch so we have to give them credit.”

The finish was Schwab’s 12th career top five and 18th career top 10 finish of his career, and his third top five and fifth top 10 this season. Humphrey now has four top fives and 10 top 10’s in his career. Martin posted his eighth career top 10 finish, while Augenstein now has three top 10 finishes in his freshman campaign.

Altogether this season, the Commodores have an astounding seven top five individual finishes and 12 top 10’s.

Baylor’s Cooper Dossey won medalist honors after finishing the tournament with a 10-under par, 206 (68-66-72).

Vanderbilt returns to the course February 26-28 at the Querencia Cabo Intercollegiate in Los Cabos, Mexico.

“We have a quick turnaround before heading to Cabo,” said Limbaugh. “We need to continue to learn from our mistakes, grow, and keep our eyes looking forward so we can take another step toward being the team we want to be. The spring season goes fast and each person has to make sure they are doing the things necessary to improve. Our demands need to be greater each and every day in order for us to continue to get better as the year goes on.”
