DALLAS, Texas – The Vanderbilt men’s golf team is in second place after two rounds of the Jim West Intercollegiate with a team total of 593 (294-299) at the TPC Craig Ranch course in McKinney, Texas.

The Commodores trail first-place Arkansas-Little Rock by only two strokes heading into the final round on Tuesday.

“I’m really pleased with how the guys competed today and embraced the windy conditions,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “In the morning, Zack and John held us in there and played with a chip on their shoulder. Overall, I thought it was a good day and we need to continue to challenge ourselves to be the best we can be.”

Sophomore Hunter Stewart led the Vanderbilt effort and is in a tie for fifth with a two-round score of 147 (74-73), while freshman John Voetsch is also in the top 10 with an eighth-place standing after the first two rounds with a 148 (71-77). Junior Charlie Ewing and freshman Zack Jaworski are each one stroke back of Voetsch and in a tie for 12th with a 149, while sophomore Jordan Janico posted a two-round total of 158 (78-80, T-48).

Northern Illinois’ Bryce Emory leads all individuals with a one-under par, 143, and has a two stroke lead on Texas State’s Stuart Smallwood and Sarosh Adi of TCU.

The final round of the tournament will conclude with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT Tuesday morning.
