Dores host Vanderbilt Invitational

NASHVILLE – Day one of the Vanderbilt Invitational concluded with several Commodore runners posting personal best times.

In the 1500 meter run, Vanderbilt took four of the top six places. Jordan White lead the way with a second place finish and a time of 4:25.58, which was a one second PR. Coming in third was Alexa Rogers, with a four second PR time of 4:27.52, while Liz Anderson was just three-tenths of a second behind Rogers (4:27.82), which was also a PR time.

In sixth place was Louise Hannallah, who clocked in at 4:35.61. Allie Scalf rounded out the top 10 with a time of 4:36.85, which was a four second personal best. Kristen Findley cut a second off her personal best time as she clocked in at 4:36.99. Also competing in the 1500 were Kara Slavoski (4:51.72), Erin McManus (4:51.89) and Haley Kolff (5:22.38).

“Our first six runners all had personal best performances tonight,” said distance coach Steve Keith. “What a great way to race in front of family and friends. Jordan, Alexa and Liz really competed well and they should all be proud of their efforts.”

Also competing in a distance race was Megan Yohe, who came in ninth in the 5K with a time of 18:16.30.

In the 200 meter dash, Anna Carr Hawkins finished second with a time of 24.42. Taylor Jackson clocked a time of 24.89. Teegan Hill rounded out the top 10 with a time of 25.30. Nia Washington also raced, clocking in at 28.77.

Competing in the javelin for the first time, Katherine Hendricks recorded a distance of 26.26m (86’2″).

Members of the men’s cross country team competed in the 1500 meter race and as well as the 5K this afternoon. David McAdams clocked a time of 4:12.88 in the 1500, while Alan Ash paced the Commodores in the 5K with a time of 15:29.16.
