Dores Finish ITA Regionals

Commodore pair falls short in doubles semifinals

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Vanderbilt women’s tennis team concluded play in the fourth day of the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals on Sunday at the Adams Tennis Complex.

Competing in the doubles semifinals, senior Emma Kurtz and freshman Anna Ross faced Xavier’s Kyle and Thomas for a spot in the finals of the main draw.

Kurtz and Ross held the Xavier duo to only one game in the first set to take the set, 6-1. In the second set, Kyle and Thomas fought back, 6-4, to force a tiebreaker. Advancing to the finals, Kyle and Thomas claimed the tiebreaker over Kurtz and Ross, 1-0 (10).

The Commodores will be back in action on Nov. 1 at the Currey Tennis Center as they host the annual June Stewart Invitational.
