STATESBORO, Ga. – The Commodore men’s golf team finished the Schenkel Invitational at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga., in eighth place with a final score of 887 (292-295-300), with junior Charlie Ewing leading Vanderbilt with a total of 219 (68-77-74, T-16th).

“As an entire group, we continue to make the climb,” said Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh. “We have to learn that we are responsible for our own self-determination and be accountable for it. I am proud of the fight this group showed and I am excited that we know what we have to do to get better. We will continue to work on the small things this week in order to be ready for Memphis.”

Ewing and sophomore Ben Fogler tied for the team’s best round of the day with each carding a 74. The Commodores’ three other players, junior Mills Rendell and sophomores Jordan Janico and Hunter Stewart, all tallied a 76 in the final round on Sunday.
