Dores Fall to Crimson Tide

Vanderbilt lost 5-0 Friday in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Vanderbilt fell 5-0 to No. 24 Alabama on Friday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

The Commodores tallied nine hits, all singles, but were unable to find the scoring column as Alabama clinched the series.

Alabama grabbed a 3-0 lead in the first and scored two more in the third. Brennan Seiber took over on the mound in the third and held Alabama scoreless over the final 5.2 innings.

Seiber surrendered just two hits and struck out three while issuing a lone walk.

Alabama’s Zane Adams earned the win with six shutout innings Adams worked around eight hits and a walk, striking out six. Ashton Crowther picked up a three-inning save out of the pen.

Logan Johnstone was one of three Commodores with a multi-hit game. Johnstone went 3-for-4 at the dish. Rustan Rigdon and Brodie Johnston had two hits apiece.

Vanderbilt looks to avoid a series sweep Saturday at 1 p.m.
