Dores Fall Flat at Arkansas

Vandy suffers third-straight loss

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – It was all Arkansas Tuesday night in Bud Walton Arena as the No. 20 Razorbacks handed No. 15 Vanderbilt a 93-68 loss.

Tyler Nickel led the Commodores with 17 points on the night. He finished 5-of-11 from three-point range. Tyler Tanner added 11 points and Devin McGlockton 10 to join Nickel as the only Dores in double figures.

Arkansas finished with six players in double figures led by Darius Acuff, Jr. with 17. Karter Knox and Malique Ewin each added 16 for the Razorbacks.

The Hogs opened the game red hot, building a 20-point advantage in the game’s first 13 minutes. Vandy (16-3, 3-3 SEC) closed the gap to 11 at the half, but Arkansas (14-5, 4-2 SEC) quickly seized control early in the second half with a 10-2 run to build a 21-point edge. Arkansas cruised down the stretch for the 25-point victory.

Arkansas finished the game at 57.8 percent from the field and 41 percent from beyond the arc. The Hogs owned a 50-22 advantage in the paint behind a 13-dunk performance.

Vanderbilt shot just 38 percent from the field and 32 percent from three en route to its second-lowest scoring performance of the season.

The Commodores return to action Saturday with a road trip to Mississippi State. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. on SEC Network.
